Water, Bathing & Energetics
‘I have always loved water and bathing and used to study medical textbooks while soaking in the bath. I always felt that water was the ultimate connector that held information and structure and formed the matter and matrix of life.
My interest in communication and information theory led me to do a PhD in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering after completing my medical degree where I became involved in research on electromagnetic radiation and health including the effects of electromagnetic field therapy Schumann resonance, sunspots and acupuncture points and meridians.
Since then water and bathing has become an increasing focus of my academic career as well as my personal life. I am currently conducting research on hot springs bathing, sauna bathing and sweatingas well as ice bathing and the Wim Hof Method as well as leading a research group on the ‘bathing biome’ that aims to eliminate the need for chlorine in commercial hot springs and aquatic centres.
I am also co-owner of Maruia Hot Springs in the South Island of New Zealand and am continually learning how to maintain a chemical-free swimming pool and hot tub at my home in Warrandyte.’
